A Foreign Policy of Freedom by Ron Paul

Having just finished reading this amazing book, I can't help but want others to do the same. Reading through his speeches, the most amazing aspect is that, almost without fail, every one of Ron Paul's predictions have become reality. His understanding of the political clockwork that happens throughout the world is uncanny, and well-represented in this book.

Coming from a person that has read very few books in his day, this recommendation should hold some clout. Get this book and spread the word.

Ron Paul FREE car wash

Today I read about a church in Cincinnati that grew from 120 to 6,000 people by having free car washes. Brilliant idea!

(The picture at right is NOT a picture of that church's members!)

Let's adapt this idea in favor of Ron Paul. This a brilliant marketing idea, and in reality, its a decently cost effective one. Since we are all happy to donate our labor, the biggest expense is some good car washing soap which can't run you more than $15 for a gallon.

If you do plan to do this, be sure to have plenty of Ron Paul paraphernalia plastered all over the place to maximize his name exposure. You might even have a table where customers can pick up free campaign literature while they wait!

Thanks to wgadget at RonPaulForums.com for the tip!

BUILD A [white] HOUSE WITH [Ron Paul] CARDS!

Our friends over at Ron Paul Gear have come out with RonPaulCards.com. This site offers extremely attractive, well-designed, and AFFORDABLE business cards that highlight Dr. Paul's strengths and history.

The Ron Paul cards are based on a design from LibertyCard.org, but they are priced significantly lower than LibertyCard.org (in some cases, it looks like you can save 30%). What I like even more than the comparison savings is the actual cost per card from these guys: buy 20,000 cards and you are only paying $0.02 per card! That is microscopically low for a card of this caliber.

This might be one of the most cost-effective ways to spread the word about the good doctor. Plus, given their compact size, these cards are more likely to be kept by a patron that receives them, as opposed to the campaign's free slim-jims which won't fit in your pocket.

EDIT: The guys over at RonPaulForums.com suggest a specific placement for these cards. Find a big parking lot (Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, etc.) and place cards on the driver's side window just above the door handle (wedge them between the window and the seal) and the cards are almost guaranteed to be seen. Great suggestion!

How much are Ron Paul's supporters worth?

We all know that Ron Paul has a lot of active supporters...but how much are they worth? As of writing this entry, there are currently 23,505 active supporters on meetup.

So lets look at the conservative numbers. I would assume that if someone is active enough to be on meetup, that they spend at least 5 hours per week on the campaign. Talking to people, meeting etc. (probably an understatement for a LOT of people).

In a quarter, there are 13 weeks (91 days/7). Which means each meet up person spends 65 hours per quarter on the campaign.

With a total of 1,527,825 man hours for the group. Lets say each person gets paid minimum wage by the campaign for their efforts. Minimum wage on average is about $7 per hour. Which means we save the campaign: $10,694,775 dollars each quarter.

This doesn't take into account all the money that is spent on supplies, promotional materials, and meetup costs OUT-OF-POCKET. Nor does it take into account all the Ron Paul supporters who are not on meetup, but who still spread his message in other ways.

Food for thought for all of you doubters out there.

(Special thanks to Andrew G. of NJ for the initial data and concept)

Turn eBay feedback into a billboard

eBay's feedback system may be inherently flawed, but it does serve those of us who have an agenda.

I have been seller on eBay now for 7 years, so I'm fairly knowledgeable about its uses, secrets, and quirks. The other day I realized that my feedback left for buyers should say something about Ron Paul.

For those eBay sellers that have Selling Manager Pro can setup eBay's system to automatically leave positive feedback for buyers. You can store up to 10 pre-written comments to be randomly left as feedback. All 10 of mine now say something about either "Ron Paul" or "visit RonPaul2008.com".

Drive new Ron Paul supporters with AdWords

Do you have a Google AdWords account now?

If so, consider creating a Ron Paul-centered campaign. My main online business (LMNO Tees for those that are curious) has used AdWords since day one with great results.

So today, I set up a campaign that sends targeted visitors to RonPaul2008.com. I created several targeted ad variations, including one on the topic of the IRS/income tax, one for the war, and a couple others about other hot topics.

Though I still plan to continue donating directly, I think that my $60 per month campaign budget will help garner some extra support in the long run.

Micro-donations count!

Riding the coattails of the news that Ron Paul has more cash on hand than so-called first tier candidate John McCain, I'll stress a point that could be overlooked.

Some Ron Paul supporters have suggested that it is more helpful to his campaign that you spend a potential $10 donation on campaign stickers, t-shirts, and other materials. While this MAY be true in some cases, now is a good time to get all the money in Ron Paul's bank account as we can.

One of the most important metrics of a campaigns funds is the total number of donors. More donors = more support. Since Dr. Paul doesn't accept campaign contributions from any corporations, he needs everyone to dig deep and make up the difference.

Give $20. Give $10. Give $5. Give ANYTHING. Visit www.RonPaul2008.com/donate.

Re-Register as Republican (no alliteration needed)

Just a quick "wag o' the finger" at those of you that are still registered as Democrats. How do you plan on voting for Ron Paul in the primaries if you're not a Republican?

Californian's can register here. Other states will have to do a little digging here.

I know, it feels dirty affiliating yourself with the GOP, but its for the good of the nation.

Just remember: Ron Paul is pretending to be a Republican, so you can too!

Postcards...better when they're free!

Vista Print has been around a long time, and you probably know them as the company that prints 100 business cards for free. They're not the BEST quality prints, or the fastest with shipping, but there is something to be said about offering free products.

They currently offer 100 free postcards (full color front, B/W back) if you're willing to pay a minimum of $5.45 for shipping (which is quoted at 21 days lead time). It works out to about 5 cents per card.

Get the free postcards here.

Put a big, bold Ron Paul message on it. Use some catchy facts about him, some of which are available from his "about me" page on RonPaul2008.com. Some you might consider:

  • He has never voted to raise taxes.
  • He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
  • He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
  • He voted against the Patriot Act.
  • He voted against regulating the Internet.
  • He voted against the Iraq war.
  • He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
What you do with the cards is up to you, but be sure to get them out of your hands as fast as you can.

Note: If you're willing to spend a little bit, the best deal I've found on larger quantities of postcards is GotPrint.com. You can get 5000 postcards for $129, which works out to 2.5 cents a piece. The print quality is very good.

Stand up, walk outside and start talking

Another page taken straight from the "obvious" book.

Some of you may not be great debaters, and some of you may just be shy, but there are those among you that like to talk. To real people. Face to face.

Go down your street, knock on doors, and talk to your neighbors. Don't be pushy, but make sure they all hear the words "Ron Paul" a couple dozen times before you leave their porch.

  • Make them curious.
  • Make them WANT to Google "Ron Paul" later.
  • Tell them about his voting record.
  • Tell them his plans to abolish the IRS and the income tax.
  • Ask how much money they will save each year without income taxes.
  • But above all, DON'T BE PUSHY! We don't want 'blowback' due to cramming our viewpoints down others' throats.
Click here to read a great post on RonPaulForums.com about this very topic.

Make your email auto-responder a Ron Paul champion!

Many people aren't even aware that their email programs are able to send an automatic reply to every email that comes in. But guess what? Any good email program does!

Over on Ron Paul Forums I found this great post explaining exactly how to setup Microsoft Outlook to send an auto-response with Ron Paul information within.

I also recommend inserting a catchy Ron Paul line in the signature of every email you send also. This is easily modified in most email programs.

Below are links to instructions on setting up some popular email programs with an auto-response:
